The Holiday Dilemma: Why Are Holidays Stressful for Moms?
Unmasking the Intense Expectations:
There are so many challenges that make the holiday season uniquely stressful for moms. From meeting intense expectations to managing obligations, the holidays become a high-stakes juggling act for working moms.
For working moms, the holidays bring an additional layer of complexity with looming deadlines and mom guilt. It can be a delicate balancing act.
How to stress less this season
Elevate Your Systems:
It is so important to have a solid system in place with reliable tools like electronic calendars or paper planners. The goal is to adapt and level up your system to navigate holiday challenges. What matters most is that it works.
If you're following it, then it works. If you're not, then it's time to explore other alternatives to help you stay organized so you can feel less overwhelmed by it all.
Have A (Batch) Party!
Turn dreadful tasks into something fun! A batch party, not to be mistakened with bach party, is transforming holiday tasks you dislike (like gift wrapping) into enjoyable experiences. By scheduling dedicated times, adding in music or your favorite movie, and inviting friends or family over who also have things they need to get done but have been procrastinating and turn it into a whole social event! This is a great way for moms to turn mundane tasks into something way more fun!.
Leave Room for Fun: Prioritize Your Joy
Just because this season is crazy and there's a million things to do, doesn't meant that you get to forget yourself (again). If anything, this season you need to put yourself on the top of the list even more because you're going to need all the joy you can get through the holidays! Proactively plan and prioritize fun activities for yourself. When you have more fun, you will be so much more of a present and joyful version of yourself.
